Four armed robbery suspects have been arrested by the Anambra State police command. HGS Media Plus reports.
The four suspects were arrested separately from different police division on Friday, January 15; Monday, January 18 and Tuesday, January 19 2021 in the State.
The suspects are Chime Raymond Ugwu, 27, ‘m’, native of Amachala village, Enugu Ezike Nsuka in Enugu State, Ifeanyichukwu Okoye, 26, ‘m’ of Owelleaja community, Friday Igwe ‘m’ of Obosi and Ogbogor Martins, 29 ‘m’ of Ketogwa Obodo Cross Rivers State but resides at Amadin village Ukpor.
The police attached to B Division Awka arrested Raymond on Monday, January 18 after receiving a distress call of a robbery incident at Maja Akwa. The suspect was beaten to stupor before being taken to the hospital for treatment. A cult to size locally made pistol and one cartridge was recovered from the suspect.
Ifeayichukwu was arrested by the police attached to awada Division on Tuesday, January 19 at Owelleaja around 9:30pm in the night for allegedly stabbing a middle age man and snatching his Infinix Hot 5 mobile phone. A fabricated riffle was recovered from the suspect.
Friday was arrested same day by police patrol team attached to Isiowulu Division at Nkpor junction, a live ammunition of 7.65mm, four shoulder bag, two handsets and one tricycle with REG No. WEG 304 WC was recovered from the suspect.
While Martins was arrested on Friday, January 15 by the police attached to Ukpor Division. A double barrel pump action and three empty AK47 magazines was recovered from the suspect.
The Anambra police command, CSP Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the arrest said all cases are under investigation after which suspects prosecuted.
