A man threatened to kill his friend’s girlfriend if she did not let him have his way with her in Delta State. HGS Media Plus reports.
The incident happened on Saturday night into Sunday morning, November 28/29 in Warri, Osubi, Delta State.
Trouble started when the suspect identified as Afoke Nelson called his friend and told him he was bored at home, so his friend asked him to come over to his place.
HGS Media Plus gathered that when Nelson came to his friend’s house, he took him out for a drink and they both had fun together. When it was time to go home, Nelson insisted he did not want to go home, so his friend decided to let him sleep over for the night.
Later that night, Nelson and his friend alongside his girlfriend decided to go out clubbing again. While on their way back, his friend’s car developed a fault thereby giving them the alternative to walk home.
While they were walking home, Nelson friend had a misunderstanding with his girlfriend on the road. On getting to the housr at about 2am on Sunday morning, Nelson’s friend left the house in anger over the quarrel between him and his girlfriend.
Nelson who apparently was already drunk after taking in much alcohol took the opportunity to lay with her that night.
Nelson carried a knife in the kitchen and threatened to kill his friend’s girlfriend if she did not allow him penetrate her.
The girl let him have his way due to fear of being killed.
However, after he had raped her, Nelson started pleading with the girl not to tell his friend claiming that he was drunk and did not know what he was doing.
To get him off her back, the girl agreed not to tell his friend. Meanwhile later that night, the girl sneaked out of the house and lock the door traping Nelson inside as she ran to her mother’s house to explain what had happened.
Nelson was apprehended that morning and he confessed to the crime claiming he was drunk.
The girl however has been taken to the hospital for medical checkup and treatment.
