Horse racing has been a traditional sport in the northern part of Nigerian for more than 400 years.
It is said to be called ‘Durbar’ which is an event of showcasing the coloration of horses to display sportsmanship in traditional chivalry.
In a recent video currently making rounds on social media shows the moment horse riders from the northern part were racing in Kano.
The race was presume to be a traditional sport for an event that could be ongoing in the state, but the race didn’t go as one would seem it to be.
According to the video captured by residents in the area where the race was conducted, the horses seem to have lost control while trying to take a turn and as a result, clashed some of the riders on a building wall.
It could not be ascertained how many riders were injured during the race, but as seen in the video, a rider wearing a white shirt seem to have hit his head so hard directly on the wall resulting him to collapse instantly.
Although no dead has being recorded as at the time of filling this report.
