Three children have being found dead and two other rescued inside a car parked at the home of a retired police officer in Enugu State. HGS Media Plus.
The incident happened on Monday, November 23 at Ugwu Ogede in Itchi, Igbo-Eze South LGA, Enugu State.
The children who were reported dead are identified as Chibugo Eze, Chinenye Eze, and Ebuka Ene, while the other two who were rescued are Kingsley Eze, and Mmasichukwu
According to report, the three children went missing on Sunday, 23 November when they went out to fetch water from a borehole around the community.
The borehole was said to be in the home of the retired police officer’s compound where the children were discovered in a car that has been parked for over six months
HGS Media Plus learnt that on getting to the borehole, the children realized that the house was empty, and while they were about leaving, three hooded men in red grabbed them and put them inside the car in the compound.
It was also gathered that the hooded men came back to get the children, but was unable to do so due to the stiffed door of the car.
Apparently, the parents had raise an alarm about their children’s disappearance and a search was conducted after discovering their children had gone missing.
HGS Media Plus also learnt that upon the search, the children were later discovered inside the car by a community member who came to the borehole to fetch water.
The three children was confirmed dead while two others were rescued alive.
The dead of the three children was presumed to be caused by suffocation due to the stiffed car door. HGS Media Plus understands.
