The Honourable Commissioner for Works Delta State, Chief James Augoye today distributed bags of rice to residence of Okpe Local Government Area.
The distribution which was made in Opuraja is the second phase of the palliative measure by the Honourable Commissioner to assist the people of Okpe during the lockdown to control the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Honourable Commissioner further stress the need for Okpe residence to always comply with the stay at home directive of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and also follow the WHO guideline of social distancing in preventing the spread of the Covid-19.
During the distribution of the bags of rice, The Media Aide to Chief James Augoye hinted that the Commissioner had earlier distributed sanitizers and bags of rice across some households of his immediate community of Jeddo, Ugbokodo and Ughoton before the lockdown, he added that the Honourable Commissioner decided to extend the gesture to the entire Okpe Local Government Area in this Second phase to meet the needs of most vulnerable people residing in Okpe and also in line with the passionate appeal by His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa calling on well to do Deltans to extend a hand of support to the vulnerable within their locality.
